As a Restaurant Shift Manager, you will help guide the front-of-house team through each shift, ensuring guests receive excellent service while standards, teamwork, and hospitality stay front and center.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with the Restaurant Manager and Restaurant Chef to support department goals and P&L guidelines.
- Lead, train, evaluate, and schedule front-of-house team members.
- Help create weekly schedules and maintain payroll for dining room staff.
- Keep health, safety, sanitation, and service standards running strong every shift.

- Coach team members and help develop their skills through ongoing feedback and support.
- Maintain par levels for paper, plastic, china, glass, silver, and other restaurant supplies.
- Work closely with Stewarding, EVS, Engineering, Cashiering Operations, VIP Services, and other departments to keep the restaurant guest-ready.
- Support the smooth flow of guest checks, reservations, and special requests.
- Participate in hiring and termination recommendations in partnership with the disciplinary process.
- Help maintain the dining room’s appearance, table setup, furniture, fixtures, and overall shift-to-shift presentation.
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience as a Food Server or Restaurant Host in a high-volume restaurant.
- For specialty restaurant roles, at least two years of experience as a Food Server or Restaurant Host in a gourmet or specialty restaurant.
Skills That Help You Shine
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of restaurant operations, menus, concepts, marketing programs, and hours of operation.
- Understanding of spirits, beer, wine, glassware, garnishes, beverage service techniques, and legal beverage service guidelines.
- Knowledge of food products, preparation methods, cooking techniques, and service standards.
- Basic understanding of P&L evaluations, including sales forecasting, budgeting, cost utilization, and KVI analysis.
- Computer skills in Stratton Warren, Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, POS systems, Ascent, and EmpowerTime.
- Knowledge of the shift bidding process.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods of time.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to work various shifts and flexible hours.
