Kitchen Team Leader - The Eatery of CT
Nothing is Common. We run a fast-paced, breakfast and lunch café serving specialty coffee, sandwiches, and salads. Small team, high standards, good energy.
We’re looking for a Team Leader—someone who can step in as the #2, run the floor, lead the team, and take extreme ownership with an infectiously positive attitude! This is a future GM role for the right person.
What you’ll actually do:
- Run shifts—open, close, and everything in between
- Lead from the front (this is a hands-on role, not clipboard management)
- Keep the team tight, positive, and accountable
- Hit speed of service targets without sacrificing quality
- Own labor + cost awareness (not just “schedule and hope”)
- Help build systems so things run right—even when you’re not there
- Early on, you’ll be heavily on the floor.
- As the business grows, this role grows with it.
What we’re really looking for:
- You're either: Been an Assistant Manager ready to step up Or a GM who’s tired of nights, chaos, and corporate grind
- You:
- Notice when things are slipping—and fix them Hold standards without killing the vibe
- Move with urgency, not stress
- Care about the team, not just the numbers
- Take ownership instead of waiting to be told
What this is (and isn’t):
- This IS:
- Fast-paced mornings and lunch rushes
- A small team where your presence matters
- A place where culture is real, not a poster on the wall
- A role where you can grow into a General Manager
- This is NOT:
- A negative work environment
- A corporate job with layers of management
- A place where standards are optional
Why people stay here:
- The team is positive, supportive, and actually enjoys working together
- The pace is real—but so is the energy
- We do things the right way—for each other and for the customer
- There’s a path forward if you want it
The details:
- Performance bonus tied to sales + cost control
- Paid time off
- Free meals
- Daytime only (seriously—no nights)
- Monday–Saturday operation
If you’re looking for a role where you can lead, grow, and actually have an impact—not just manage shifts—we should talk!
